The Dartfordians Mens 1st team held a fundraising lunch in aid of the Injured Players Foundation following their 24-7 win over Dover RFC which cemented 2nd place (and promotion!) from Kent Counties 1.

Jarrod Lawrence, Chairman of Dartfordians RFC & Game Development - Kent County Rugby Football Union said "The final league game of Dartfordians RFC's 100th Anniversary season saw 80 sitting down to a pre-match lunch ahead of the fixture v Dover RFC. Various club sponsors were in attendance and enjoyed an excellent menu with good friends, with a collection made for the Injured Players Foundation, to support such an important cause. Overall £700 was raised and the Foundation was picked out for support due to the great work that they undertake to provide financial support/assistance to players seriously injured whilst playing the sport. But also, because of the importance of the research that the Foundation undertakes to help prevent future injuries."

We are grateful for the support of Chris Spedding, Coach Developer at the RFU, nominating the Injured Players Foundation to be the beneficiary at the Dartfordians RFC pre-match lunch.

"The clubhouse was buzzing with 80 sat down to a pre-match lunch celebrating the clubs 100th anniversary year. During the lunch there was a collection for the RFU's Injured Players Foundation, a charity close to the heart of the club. The crowd were then entertained to a 4-try bonus point victory!"

With thanks to Chris, Jarros and all at Dartfordians RFC for their support in their centennial year and congratulations on the promotion!
